Miss Sabrina - Principal
Miss Sabrina is Sabrina McGarraghy. Sabrina started her Dancing life at the age of 3, and since then.....hasn't really stopped! She has MANY years of dance training and performance experience behind her. She is also a mother of 2 sons and has a genuine LOVE of working with children. Sabrina enjoys seeing her students' skills develop and their self-confidence blossom! Sabrina created her very successful Tiny Showstoppers with Miss Sabrina Drama and Dance program for children aged 2 1/2 - 5 years in late 2009 and has developed it further as she has gone along teaching it, with 2017 being the 8th year the program will be running! With Sabrina's many years of Dance/Drama experience, her theatrical personality and her love of working with children, this is a great combination to ensure that her immediate students thoroughly enjoy her classes and ALL Sabrina's Showstoppers students enjoy attending her studio. Sabrina also prides herself on being a strong businesswoman, aiming to manage her growing team to utilise their strengths as much as possible to help provide a better service, and at the same time she enjoys personally 'connecting' with her customers who she believes are all part of her Showstoppers 'family'. With her many years of Administration and Accounting experience behind her along with the growing amount of years as a business owner, this has helped her to enjoy watching her business Tiny Showstoppers with Miss Sabrina grow considerably in it's first 2 years, then grow even more when it became Sabrina's Showstoppers in February 2012 up until today. She has also found that her studio has the 'community feel' she wanted for it and really enjoys the big social aspect of her studio. Sabrina enjoys catering for both recreational and more competitive students, and still stands behind her motto that everyone deserves to SHINE!
In 2017, she is wanting to take Sabrina's Showstoppers to even greater heights with the addition of her new Head of Ballet and Curriculum on board her team, as well as the rest of her professional teaching staff who she believes not only offer top quality dance and performance training, but who are fantastic role models for instilling good life values in the students(whether they are recreational or competition level) who attend her studio. More troupes and competition routines will also be underway, under the professional guidance of her Director and Teachers. Sabrina is looking forward to expanding Sabrina's Showstoppers even further and has lots of exciting plans in store for it.
Matthew Treadgold - Director of Acrobatics and Choreography
Mr Matt joined Miss Sabrina's team in late 2013 and his role within Sabrina's Showstoppers has grown each year. Miss Sabrina has recently promoted him to this new role in recognition of his hard work and dedication to her studio over the past 3 years and Mr Matt's workload will increase even more in 2016 - including the introduction of 3 new competition troupes under his direction. Mr Matt is our specialized Acrobatics teacher but is also a very talented choreographer and teacher in other genres such as Contemporary, Hiphop, Lyrical and Jazz. Mr Matt's dancing career started at a young age where he trained in Hiphop, Acobatics and Jazz. He also received training at John Curtin College of the Arts as part of their Specialist Dance and Ballet program in Contemporary, Breakdance and Ballet. His five years at John Curtin culminated in him being named Performer of the Year and selected for the opening solo of the Performing Arts Perspectives in 2010. Following John Curtin, Mr Matt has performed with the Western Australian Academy of Performing Arts for three and a half years. He has enjoyed performing in a number of lead and ensemble roles with the Ian Charles Westrip Performing Arts Association, STEPS Youth Dance Company, Bent Knee Creativen and John Curtin. Mr Matt has also been teaching at schools across Perth for the last 5 years and during that time has successfully choreographed students for competition and performances. Mr Matt enjoys working with the students of Sabrina's Showstoppers in our relaxed, encouraging environment, and is a well-respected member of our Showstoppers community.
