Dance competitions are a fantastic opportunity as an extension to any student’s training. Dance competitions offer an opportunity to perform on stage and receive feedback to enhance your abilities, while also creating a sense of achievement and growing a student’s confidence.  Whenever we participate at competitions we are all representing our studio and need to follow competition etiquette and rules while maintaining high moral standards on and off the stage. Competition students are selected by the Principal along with advice from teachers. Selection Criteria points for performing at competitions:

  • Committed performers who have a good attendance record
  • Good grooming for all classes
  • Attends multiple classes
  • Motivated with a good attitude
  • Willingness from parent to commit to the relevant extra costs involved; extra lessons, costumes, competition entry fees, with also a commitment to make competitions a priority for selected school holiday periods.

End of Year Showcase

Our End of Year Showcase is without a doubt the highlight of our year! It is enjoyed by all students, staff and families and is an absolute joy to be part of: “The jewel in the crown of our year!” Our Showcase and compulsory Dress Rehearsal  is usually held on a weekend in December. In 2021, our 12th Showcase was held at the lovely Newman College Churchlands on Sunday December 19th, and we aim to have our 2022 Showcase here in December.  For the Costumes for Showcase we attempt to always keep them under $100 per costume, and try and combine suitable classes to wear the same base costume when possible to help keep costs down.  Deposits for costumes are collected mid-year. Tickets for the Showcase generally go on sale around the end of October through trybooking.
